Marcus Sundkvist Appointed New Director of Light for the Peoples

Following this weekend’s election of Magnus Alphonce as Assistant Mission Director for the Evangelical Free Church in Sweden (EFK), the board of Light for the Peoples has appointed Marcus Sundkvist as the organization’s new Director.

Marcus Sundkvist will begin his role in August and will initially work closely alongside Magnus Alphonce to ensure a smooth transition.

Marcus has extensive experience in organizational leadership, with more than ten years serving as CEO of several companies. In previous roles, he has worked with organizational development, team building, and leading change processes, with a focus on long-term sustainable growth.

Alongside his professional career, Marcus has for many years been involved in mission work, including initiating and supporting church planting in India. He is also engaged in encouraging entrepreneurs and business leaders to take part in the mission of the Church.

“It is a great privilege to step into this role. Since I was young, I have carried a desire to contribute to mission work, and in recent years I have also had the opportunity to see how mission work can grow and develop in practice. I look forward to continuing to develop the work of reaching unreached people groups together with staff, partners, and supporters,” says Marcus Sundkvist.

During the spring, the board of Light for the Peoples has been preparing for a leadership transition.
